Into the frame: Whyn Lewis
Scottish painter Whyn Lewis is known for her unique and highly detailed depictions of elegant, beautiful and striking whippets.
Her works feature animals as the main subject, drawn in a highly detailed and realistic style against plain or layered background colours.
Lewis also incorporates symbolism and narrative elements into her works, using small objects such as collars to add clues and meaning to her paintings.
Each piece conveys deeper themes related to human relationships and the human condition. Through her use of animal subjects and symbolism, she can explore the complexities of human emotions and connections. This adds a layer of depth and meaning to her paintings that go beyond their visual appeal.
Her talent has been acknowledged with multiple awards over the years, including those from the Royal Scottish Academy. Lewis has had several solo shows in the UK, also exhibiting in various locations in the USA.
